Nocturnal, the other major superclub on NE Eleventh Street, has suffered ups and downs, surviving through its share of closing and re-opening rumors over the years. But that’s just par for the course in nightlife, where longevity is rare and a fifth birthday, which the dance warehouse celebrates this weekend, is truly an accomplishment. In a bit of local love, the main soundtrack for the event is 305 hip-hop, courtesy of live performances from Flo Rida and Git Fresh.

Flo is the hometown guy turned bona fide star, specializing in hip-hop verses over slickly produced dance-pop. If you have turned on commercial radio during the past six months, you at least heard his biggest hit to date, “Right Round.” A couple of months ago, he announced via Twitter that his third studio album, The Only One, is due out later this year. Nocturnal promoters promise this is a live show, not just an appearance, and that he’s scheduled to perform all of his hit songs. Opening act Git Fresh, meanwhile, has also scored airwave love with songs such as “What Them Girls Like” and a recent Flo Rida collab called “Arch Your Back.”
