The duke of food porn meets the godfather of punk.
As Miami New Times food blog Short Order reports, Anthony Bourdain has been spotted lurking about our subtropical shores shooting a likely Miami episode of his enormously popular CNN show, Parts Unknown.
So far, Bourdain’s scarfed a medianoche sandwich. He’s deftly deployed the #Miami hashtag. He’s gotten his ass beat by MMA master Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu.
And yes, he’s apparently even squeezed in some beach time with Miami resident and rock ‘n’ roll legend Iggy Pop.

In a snapshot just posted to instagram/AnthonyBourdain, everyone’s favorite chef, author, traveler, and professional shit-talker can be seen bro-ing down with everyone’s favorite 67-year-old punk rocker.
Long described by Bourdain as “a hero of mine,” Iggy Pop was “an extraordinary, spit-in-the-face presence” whose “first Stooges album, an antisocial masterpiece,” inspired young Tony because the “hippies were dead from that moment on.”
To further illustrate the famous foodie’s fanboydom, he also once tweeted: “Saw Iggy Pop on the beach today. #lifecomplete”
And now, as if by kismet or chaos, they’ve ended up on the sand, together again.
Just “two old dudes,” as Bourdain writes, “on the beach.”
