Yesterday, it seemed both sides had come to a pretty amiable resolution in the lawsuit between former Gov. Charlie Crist and the Talking Heads’ David Byrne. The exact settlement details weren’t released, but apparently they involve Crist issuing a video statement supporting artists’ intellectual rights and talking about how awesome David Byrne is.

Crist used a snippet of the Talking Heads’ song “Road to Nowhere” in an online-only attack ad aimed at Marco Rubio in the 2010 Senate race, but Byrne said he never licenses his music for advertisements. So Crist has apparently been made to eat crow by talking about intellectual property, mentioning Byrne’s “famous song” and “unique voice,” and promising never to use copyrighted work illegally in any of his future campaigns.
