If you listened real close when Outkast rapper Big Boi (AKA Antwan Patton) disembarked from a cruise ship at 1:35 p.m. on August 7 and got busted by Miami-Dade K-9 cops while carrying three kinds of contraband (MDMA, Ecstasy, Viagra) and “drug paraphernalia,” you could almost hear the cell door to his executive suite at the Big House slamming shut.
But today, Big Boi struck a plea deal that’ll keep him outta the clink. During an appearance in a Miami courtroom, the Associated Press reports that he agreed to “three months of drug testing, community service, and $2,000 in donations to charities.”
Originally, he had been looking at the possibility of four felony drug charges. Ultimately, though, Patton ended up facing only two for possession of E, “a cigarette roller with marijuana residue,” and MDMA.
Now if he passes all his drug tests, doesn’t eff up again, or go packing another suitcase full of narco sex aids for his next trip aboard a party yacht, Big Boi will be a free man and the felonies will be forgotten.
