figures of
contemporary techno, boasting a masterful command of studio production
and live electronics. Early breakthrough tracks like “Decompression”,
released on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label, earned Jonson
worldwide acclaim in the early 2000s, and his
experimental forays into tech-jazz fusion and live electronic
improvisation with Cobblestone Jazz and The Modern Deep Left Quartet
have garnered universal praise. Jonson’s last local
performance at the Electric Pickle was one of the most unforgettable EDM
experience of 2009 and his upcoming gig at Space on Saturday is poised to be downright
spectacular.
