When the Miami Heat’s Udonis Haslem was charged by the Florida Highway Patrol with a third degree felony of possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana things seemed shady. We went as far as to call it a “miscarriage of justice.” Now, the State Attorney’s Office has dropped all charges against the hometown hard court hero.
Haslem was arrested back in August when he was pulled over by the FHP for driving over the speed limit in a car with illegally tinted windows. Though, police smelled pot and after searching found a small amount of marijuana in the car.
Though, Haslem wasn’t traveling alone. His friend Antwain Fleming was riding shotgun, and admitted that the drugs and the bag they were found in were his at the time of the arrest. Haslem contended he had no idea there were drugs in his car. Despite the fact that Fleming took responsibility for the drug, Haslem ended up being charged with the harsher crimes.
Now, the controversial charges have been dropped according to Haslem’s attorney. Though Haslem still has to deal with the speeding ticket and too-tinted windows.

Haslem grew up in Miami-Dade, and has played his entire NBA career with the Heat. Hopefully with the drug charges now behind him he can be a part of another Championship winning team.
