Just as news came yesterday that Florida was the grow house capital of America, a suspected hydroponics lab in Opa-locka has caught fire. Fire fighters haven’t completely confirmed that the warehouse is indeed a grow house, but they’re taking turns trying to put out the fire from the inside. You know, because the possibility of tons of burning marijuana doesn’t lend itself to great on-the-job performance.
Fire fighters responded to the flame earlier this afternoon at the warehouse on 13791 NW 16 Avenue.
WSVN reports that they’ve found plenty of chemicals on the site associated with a hydroponics lab. They also found an “illegal mezzanine.” Not sure what makes a mezzanine illegal, but apparently this particular mezzanine thumbs its mezza-nose at the law.
