Even though her husband has been out of office for nearly a year, former first lady of Florida Carole Crist still makes the gossip pages. First there was the news that she was registered as a Democrat and was openly asking top Democrats if her hubby Charlie Crist had any chance of reclaiming the governor’s mansion as a Dem. Well, while she may be talking to Democrats, she’s apparently not talking to her two teenage daughters, according to a lawsuit filed by her ex-husband.

Before her marriage to Crist, she was known as Carole Rome, wife of Blue Star Jets head Todd Rome and queen of the Hamptons. She even had a Real Housewife as one of her best friends, Jill Zarin. Then, in 2007 she divorced Rome (Page Six suggested it was somehow related to her spending habits), and after a whirlwind romance, married then-Governor Crist in 2008.

Page Six now reports she’s being sued by Rome for child support:

Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist’s sassy wife, Carole, is being sued by her wealthy ex-husband, Blue Star Jets honcho Todd Rome, for allegedly failing to pay child support — even though their divorce settlement doesn’t require it — or even stay in contact with their daughters Jessica, 15, and Skylar, 13. Carole and Todd were Hamptons fixtures until Carole left him in 2007, when Page Six reported the private-jet service owner put his foot down on her lavish spending. Carole remarried in 2008 to the Florida Republican governor. Todd, now wed to Vanessa Brahms and represented by pit-bull attorney Mark Heller, filed papers this month against Carole, claiming she’s failed to pay support or be part of the lives of their children who live with Todd in New York. While their settlement doesn’t require her to pay child support, “Carole has cut off communication with the girls,” a source told us. “She refused to attend her daughter’s graduation, visit them at summer camp or attend their birthdays. It’s not about the money.”

Carole Crist recently sold her apartment on Fisher Island. Charlie Crist, meanwhile, decided to trade in the one-bedroom apartment he had leased for years in a tower in St. Petersburg for a two bedroom in the same building. He explained at the time that the second bedroom was meant for his stepdaughters when they come to visit.
