Not a good week for Miami-Dade police officers keeping their cars safe. On Monday, police shot and killed a man who jumped in a police cruiser and took off after causing a fatal traffic accident.
Now, police have caught crooks on video breaking into parked police cruisers and stealing guns and ammo.
NBC Miami reports that the incidents occurred in Cutler Bay sometime between October 3 and 11. A group of suspects were caught on video breaking into eight vehicles total, including a federal law enforcement vehicle and three MDPD cars.
The thieves looted the cars, and took a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition. Personal items were also taken.
