Yesterday we learned that after Gov. Rick Scott spearheaded a law requiring all welfare recipients in the state to undergo drug testing, only 2 percent of people who have taken the test since the law went into effect July 1 have failed. That’s compared to about 8.16 percent of the general Florida population that uses drugs. Maddow replays a clip from CNN in which Scott claims people on welfare use drugs at a higher rate than people who aren’t on welfare. Well, after his “mass examination of Floridians’ body fluids,” that doesn’t seem to be the case.
