Is the proof in the proverbial Canadian pudding, the Juno Awards, Canada’s equivalent to the Grammy’s, that Drake is mad soft?
Last night, while we watched Taylor Swift walk away with another Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year award, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences was seemingly playing the cruelest April Fool’s joke on Aubrey Drake Graham, Drake.
Canda’s Album of the Year wasn’t Drake’s Take That, but rather fellow Canuck Michael Bublé’s Christmas. Drizzy lost to a stalking-stuffer.

Clearly, Drake diehards were stunned. Vancouver-based blogger and avid Twitter user Connor Lemaire argued that Drake should’ve beat Bublé “hands down,” citing the rapper’s popularity last year as the determining factor.
Canada’s “editorially independent and not-for-profit national newspaper,” The Canadian, was also quick to react, calling Bublé’s Christmas record a “hardly” artistic effort.
“The Juno’s apparent political hacks have made us an international laughing stock for overlooking Drake in [favor] of Micheal Bublé’s Christmas album.”
But was last night’s victory a political hack job or further evidence that Drake is wholly overrated?
The actor-turned-singer has yet to comment on his Juno snub, but we can only imagined that a loss of this great proportion will be as crippling to Drizzy’s career as that bullet was to his Degrassi: The Next Generation character.
