A nursing student, so far only identified by police by her first name, Lupe, tried to ambush her supervisor this morning in Miami Gardens. According to CBS Miami, Lupe waited outside an office building until the supervisor arrived and then began shooting at the intended target.
“An employee was waiting for the supervisor to arrive, when the supervisor arrived at the office, the employee stepped outside and shot several times at the supervisor,” Miami Gardens Police Capt Ralph Suarez told NBC Miami.
The supervisor than ran inside, and managed to escape being shot.
“She was hysterical,” a security guard tells CBS Miami. “She was saying, ‘Lupe’s got a gun, she’s trying to shoot me. Lupe’s got a gun, she’s trying to shoot me.'”

Though, a bullet did graze her pants.
Lupe then followed her into the lobby, but had to reload her gun. That’s when a man rushed about behind her and was able to grab the gun.
A motive has not yet been established.
