The Blue Starlite Miami Urban Drive-In, a boutique drive-in movie theater that announced it was headed to Wynwood in July, has at last set an opening date — and it’s just in time for cooler fall weather.

In a statement released yesterday, the Blue Starlite announced it’ll officially open Wednesday, October 9. Film buffs can get an early taste at preview nights running September 18 through 23.

Since we last checked in with owner Josh Frank, who moved both his life and his successful drive-in theater business to Miami from Austin, Texas, this summer, the Blue Starlite has decided on a location at 70 NW 29th St. in Wynwood, right next to O Cinema.

The Blue Starlite’s new home can accommodate up to 20 cars, making movies at the drive-in a real boutique experience. For patrons arriving by bike, by bus, or on foot, there’ll be ten reserved tables with seating areas and drive-thru speakers to hear the film.

Though the space is intimate, moviegoers can expect the full drive-in experience: vintage car speakers, concession snacks, and a lineup of pop culture classic and cult films on the big screen.

Films showing during the Blue Starlite’s previews include:

September 18: 8:30pm Pretty In Pink

September 19: 8:30pm Fast Times at Ridgemont High and The Wild Life (double feature)

September 20: 8:30pm The Princess Bride

September 21: 8:30pm Grease
