Miami Spice 2017: The Ten Best Restaurants for Vegans and Vegetarians

While Miami Spice is a smorgasbord of multicourse deliciousness, it’s also big on meat, dairy, and eggs. Veg eaters can feel left out, to say the least. Jeff McInnis Says There’s No Validity to Root & Bone Partner’s Lawsuit

In a lawsuit filed yesterday in New York Supreme Court, Jeff McInnis and Janine Booth were sued by Root & Bone partner Richard Freedman for “spending proceeds on a $135,000 apartment renovation and side projects like a Puerto Rico pop-up,” according to the New York Post. In total, the lawsuit alleges, “McInnis and Booth have failed to account for over $286,500.00 in cash distributions since the inception.”

Food Dude Brings Latin-Jamaican Fare to the Wynwood Yard

The newest food truck to pop up inside the Wynwood Yard is Food Dude, a Latin-Jamaican grill concept. The truck first debuted in 2013, after Alex Torres, a Johnson and Wales alum, was laid off as a corporate chef. A few months later, he and his wife Erica bought a black truck and hit the road. Stocked with jerk chicken, rice, and tostones, the two cruised across Miami, serving culinary mash-ups rooted in culture and tradition.

Michael Schwartz’s Amara at Paraiso restaurant will open sometime in November at the Paraiso Bay complex in Edgewater. The restaurant’s large, 4,500-square-foot dining room, designed by Meyer Davis Studio, features indoor and outdoor seating that opens to Biscayne Bay, offering striking views.The main dining room and bar will seat 150, with an additional 70 seats on the waterfront deck.
