If you’re intrigued about the upcoming Huahua’s Taqueria, the soon-to-open fast-casual taco joint by chef Todd Erickson, you merely have to head over to Haven Gastro-Lounge tonight for Taco Tuesday, featuring a sneak preview of Huahua’s tacos.
Tonight and every Tuesday (except for Christmas and New Year’s Day), Erickson will feature a different taco from Huahua’s until the taqueria opens. Because of the holidays, the next Taco Tuesday after tonight is January 8, 2013.

Tacos are two for $5. Tonight’s taco is short rib with pickled jalapeno and sweet heat coleslaw.

Since man cannot live on tacos alone (or can we?), Haven is also offering other happy hour selections from 6 to 8 p.m. Five dollars gets you tater tots with Maytag bleu, chives, and balsamic ketchup; sweet frites with spiced brown sugar and lemon-cayenne aioli; the sushi roll of the day (today it’s spicy tuna); or the slider of the day (sausage and peppers are on the menu tonight).
Seven dollars buys you a grilled cheese on a buttered brioche with a side or tomato bisque; prime beef with Nueske’s bacon, guacamole, tomato, and Vermont cheddar.
Nine dollar items include a spider roll, crab cake, duck duck quail (a duck burger with quail egg and foie gras butter), and crackle pop (seared tuna with crispy rice).
Happy-hour drink specials include two for one beers (two for $7); Absolut drinks (two for $11), Perrier-Jouet by the glass (Two for $20) or bottle (two for $100), and Graffigna Pinot Grigio and Cabernet by the glass (two for $11) or bottle (two for $40). Happy hour offer is good daily; tacos are served only on Tuesdays.
