February’s comin’ and you know what that means: V-Day and football (AKA smoochin’ and scorin’). So here’s a fresh, sporty concoction created by the folks at Club 50 for those pigskin-tossin’ and jersey-wearin’ babes in our hot, hot city.
By the way, if you really want a surefire way to get into someone’s pants, it might take more than just a few Wheat & Mints. Try to hook him or her up with a ticket to the Super Bowl Super Brunch, an event benefiting the Moyer Foundation’s Camp Erin and the Mario Batali Foundation. Eos chef Michael Psilakis is cochairing, along with Mario Batali, Emeril Lagasse, MLB pitcher Jamie Moyer, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Buffett. 15 mint leaves
1 1/2 oz. Old Tom Gin
1 oz. of lime juice or juice of 1 lime
1 oz. of simple syrup
Dash of orange bitters
2 oz. Tucher (unfiltered wheat beer) or Blue Moon
Orange slice and a mint sprig for garnish
Directions: Dry-muddle the mint in a mixing glass. Then add lime, simple syrup, and bitters. Add gin. Shake ingredients with ice, and then double-strain ingredients over fresh ice. Top off with beer. Garnish with 1/8 of an orange wedge and a mint sprig.
