The Deals: Get half off select drinks and appetizers. Drink specials include The 1800 Margarita ($4.50), sangria pitchers ($4,90 individual; $13.90 large), and tequila shots ($4.50). Beer options feature $3 Corona, Modelo, and Pacifico. Half-price appetizers include the queso fundido, made with chihuahua cheese and chorizo ($4.65) and tacos de la calle, with chicken or pork ($3.50). Those enjoying happy hour must sit in the bar area or outside to enjoy the deals.
The Scene: Rosa Mexicano‘s interior mixes traditional Mexican flare with romantic hues and funky touches. True to its name, the backlit bar features dried scattered rose petals and uniquely shaped thatched lanterns. The walls and ceiling are painted warm reds and oranges that are softened by the lighting. Iconic Mexican touches include aging tequilas on display, colorful figurines, and embroidered prints on the chair backs. The music leans toward upbeat Latin-fusion, skimming from salsa favorites to loungey, Latin funk. The outdoor seating area and bar are more casual than the intimate dining area.
The Conclusion: Brickell provides seemingly endless happy hour options, but Rosa Mexicano instantly became a favorite when it opened a few years ago. Two people can easily share three or four menu items, spend less than $20, and leave full satisfied. The servers were outgoing and accommodating and very familiar with the menu.
