Sure, it’s a chain. But it’s also the home of over 500 bottles and 50 rotating drafts of craft beer, making World of Beer a welcome addition to the neighborhood (and a place to add to your happy hour bar rotation).

Located in the Shops at Midtown, this Tampa-based chain also features live music, tap takeovers, a board game lending library and free wi-fi.

Although they do not serve food,World of Beer allows meals to be brought in from neighboring restaurants (many of which deliver directly to WOB). With Sakaya Kitchen, Lime, Mercadito Midtown, Five Guys, The Daily Melt, and others all within arm’s reach of the brew palace, everyone in your group can get munchies tailored to their liking. Imagine never fighting about going out for burritos or Asian-fusion ever again.

The taps open at 3 p.m., Monday, May 6 and there’s entire week’s worth of celebrations and deals planned. Here’s the entire schedule:

May 6: Grand opening Celebration starts at 3 p.m. Meet the brewer and owner of Wynwood Brewing Co., who will be pouring their beers and talking about their brewery.

Enter the raffle to benefit C.O.P.S. (Concern for Police Survivors). Tickets are $1 and prizes include a Magic Hat speaker system, Magic Hat bike, Radeberger bike, Redhook tent, Brooklyn longboard, tickets to Memphis at the Adrienne Arsht Center, gift cards to neighboring restaurants, beer glass ware, flags, t-shirts, bottle openers, hats, and other surprises.

May 9: Craft Brewjas and Most Wanted Brewing in the house to pour their collaboration beers.

May 10: Firkin Friday at 6 p.m., featuring a cask from Tequesta Brewing Co. This is a one-time only opportunity to try their dry hopped, oak aged Gnarly Barley.

In addition, WOB Midtown has a host of weekly promotions, including:

Monday is service industry night. From open – close, people in the service industry (which includes restaurants, hotels, police, hospital workers, firefighters, and customer service reps) will get half off all drafts.

Tuesday is Yappy Hour. Bring your dog to the patio from 6 – 9 p.m. and get $1 off any dog-related beer.

It’s also Loyalty Club night. WOB Loyalty Club members get 25% off all bottles all day.

Wednesday is WOBU night. All students, teachers, and administrators get half off all drafts from open – close.

Thursday is ladies and military night with half off all wine and select drafts all evening long.

From Thursday – Saturday enjoy live music nightly at 8 p.m.

Enjoy happy hour Monday – Friday from 3 – 7 p.m. with $1 off all drafts.
