Local post-punkers Astari Nite may not have been playing an overload of shows within the county’s borders lately. But that doesn’t mean they’ve been quiet.
Instead, the foursome’s been gigging frequently through the rest of South Florida, most recently at Respectable’s annual New Year’s shebang in West Palm.
They’ve also been making bigger moves, recently signing a new management deal with Creator Entertainment.
Based here in Miami as well as Las Vegas and Toronto, the new company is helmed by veteran concert promoter Danny Chasan, who first encountered the group at a local show they played alongside People From Venus. “As fate may have it, we met again at a local venue and discussed future plans,” says Astari Nite guitarist Albert Grey. “He suggested that we stay in touch with him and we have been in contact ever since.”

It’s a fortuitous partnership, considering Chasan has acted as marketing director for Ultra Music Festival for the past eight years. That means the band will get a chance to perform for probably its largest crowd to date this year, thanks to a live slot on the festival on Saturday, March 26. (Exact time and stage details are still TBA.)
Meanwhile, already in the works are a full-scale East Coast tour, dubbed the Politics of Love tour, kicking off at Respectable Street on February 18. That’s timed to coincide with the release of the band’s second, still untitled EP.
A couple of West Coast showcases are planned after that, as well as a possible European tour this summer, and recording sessions for the band’s first proper full-length.
