This Sunday, May 23, explore the meaning of sound at Emergency Radio Battery-Check Nightime Event, a “performative installation” that asks you to bring your own radio, tune it to 1610 AM, and walk around the soundscape of the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens for free from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sound art is provided by you, Frozen Music, and Talking Head Transmitters.
The event also encourages you to check the batteries in your emergency radio for the start of hurricane season. That’s sound advice. They’re even offering free replacement batteries.
Sound Art has traditionally been treated like an ugly step child in the art community. Come hear why all that’s changing with one of Dade County’s greatest proponents of the form.
