Miami New Times music section is looking to expand its roster of freelance writers. We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable freelancers who can generate pitches and take assignments covering events throughout Miami’s diverse music scene.

If you are passionate about the 305’s local music scene, are knowledgeable about the issues facing local musicians and nightlife venues, and have a great sense of what’s on the horizon, we want to hear from you. If you have a single area of expertise — like EDM, punk, or hip-hop — we want to hear from you too.

If writing about the Magic City’s music and nightlife scene is your dream come true, send an email with a brief introduction outlining your background, short pitches for story ideas, and clips of your previous work (or a writing sample if you’ve yet to publish) to ryan.pfeffer@browardpalmbeach.com. Please type “Freelance Writers” in the subject line.

And, yes, we pay.
