No two words go better together than open and bar, which is one of the things you can experience at Space this Saturday.
There is a catch, but it’s more than livable: Bring a new unwrapped toy as a donation to Toys for Tots, and you’ll get free admission and an open bar until 1:00 a.m. If that’s early rising for you, bring a gift anyway — you know, something easy to find this time of year, like a Wii or PlayStation 3. The kids will bless your karmic aura for it.
On tap in the Main Room will be Oscar G, bringing down the tribal-afterhours house as only he does. In case you’ve been camped out waiting in line for a PS3 the past couple of years, Oscar followed up his frenetic 2003 Live @ Space album with last year’s Made in Miami mix, his own dark, deep tribute to the city.
“I have always tried to be an ambassador for Miami when I tour,” he says, “and this CD is a reflection of the sound I take from Miami to the rest of the world.”

One half of the Billboard-charting Murk guys, Oscar has done remixing for the likes of Madonna, Seal, Donna Summer, Jennifer Lopez, and Pet Shop Boys. — Eric W. Saeger
