The music business doesn’t need another “unique artist” who blends “hip-hop, goth, pop, and funk with a rock star flare [sic] and major sex appeal.” So when Padge “Black Madam” Winslowe’s niche music career hit a brick wall, the Philly-based songstress started moonlighting as a purveyor of black-market butt injections, hosting “pumping parties” around the City of Brotherly Love and shooting silicone into the derrières of desperate patients. After all, there’s good money in ass implants.

So Black Madam’s sitting jail, charged with third-degree murder, conspiracy, reckless endangerment, possessing an instrument of crime, and unauthorized practice of medicine, according to the Washington Post. In February 2011, 20-year-old Londoner Claudia Aderotimi underwent a series of silicone injections in a hotel near the Philadelphia International Airport administered by a woman who sings about g-spots and kitchen sex. Soon, Aderotimi started complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath. She died four hours later of a blood clot. But Winslowe didn’t go to jail. For a year, Black Madam roamed freely, potentially luring others into her black-market butt injections and endangering the lives of unsuspecting clients. “Padge Winslowe’s arrogance and blatant disregard for human life is shocking,” District Attorney Seth Williams tells the paper. “Her conduct cost one young woman her life and placed countless others in danger.” Moral: Never ever RSVP for a “pumping party.” Follow Crossfade on Facebook and Twitter @Crossfade_SFL.
