A bizarre murder-suicide attempt today has left one octogenarian dead, and another injured. Police are investigation and incident in which an 87-year-old man pulled a gun on an 84-year-old woman and then apparently turned it toward himself.
The incident happened sometime before 1 pm at the Versailles Garden II apartment complex on 9400 West Flagler Street. Investigators claim that the man and woman got into an argument during which the man produced a gun. He proceeded to shoot both the woman and himself.
Both the victim and accused assailant were airlifted to Ryder Trauma center. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital, but the man is in stable condition.
WSVN is reporting the incident as a “murder-suicide.”
