Traffic backups on I-95 are nothing new, but this morning’s installment was thanks to a mysterious metal object that left nearly every motorist who drove over it with two flat tires.
According to WSVN, nearly a dozen drivers were victims of the pesky piece of metal, and the aftermath caused quite a scene.
The object was located on the southbound onramp near the Opa-locka exit just as drivers were about to merge with the main interstate traffic. Around 8 a.m., the object began wreaking havoc.
“Next thing I know, I hear flip, flip, flip, flip. My tires are flat. I said, ‘OK, one tire, no problem,'” a driver named Steve told WSVN. “I pull off the road, and I see other cars on the shoulder and two tires are flat, the passenger side. That’s what happened to everybody.”

Because the object punctured both rear and front tires and most cars come equipped with only one spare tire, most of the drivers were left without an easy solution. Friends, relatives, tow companies, and car services were called out to assist the stranded commuters.
The Florida Highway Patrol has removed the object but isn’t sure yet exactly what it is or how it got onto the onramp.
