Former Miami Hurricanes coach Al Golden is out of a job and doesn’t seem to have a new one lined up, so he’s not wasting any time getting out of Miami. The tie-wearing coach has put his South Miami home on the market for $1.99 million.
Sure, people say the University of Miami doesn’t pay its football coaches top-tier money, but don’t feel bad for whoever ends up snagging the job. Clearly, the job still pays quite handsomely — enough to pay for a place like this.
According to Realtor.com, Golden and his wife paid $1.775 million for the 5,758-square-foot home in 2011, shortly after he was hired in December 2010. The six-bedroom home sits on about an acre of land.
Though there are not yet photos online of the interior, the Goldens spent $215,000 to have it professionally remodeled. Those new furnishings could also be negotiated into the deal, according to the new listing.

The listing describes the home as a “high-quality estate” perfect for “lavish entertainment.” Amenities include a fire pit, covered patio with built-in grill, a large heated pool with a swim-up bar, wine storage, a library, and a home gym.
Golden, of course, won’t be hurting for money anytime soon. He may be out of a job, but he’ll still almost certainly collect a multimillion-dollar severance thanks to a contract with UM that’s good until 2019.
