Late Friday night, talented but troubled Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall wound up at Broward General Medical Center, while his wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, was held in jail for allegedly stabbing the superstar in the gut. Today the Broward Sheriff’s Office released the 911 call Nogami-Marhsall made from their Southwest Ranches home that night.

New Times Broward-Palm Beach blog the Daily Pulp has obtained the tapes. A female voice, presumably Nogami-Marhsall’s, tells the dispatcher: “Please come — it’s an emergency.” When the dispatcher asks for clarification, the woman simply repeats, “Please come — it’s an emergency,” before hanging up.

When police arrived, Nogami-Marshall admitted to stabbing Marshall, but she maintains it was in self-defense. According to the arrest report, she stabbed Marshall in the stomach with a kitchen knife and has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The couple was married last year, but this is not the pair’s first reported brush with domestic violence. Though no charges were filed, Atlanta Police detailed an incident in which the two fought and Marshall pinned his then-fiancée against a wall.

Marshall is expected to fully recover, and the Dolphins so far have taken no action related to the incident.
