It was a slap on the ass that ultimately cost former NFL player Chad Johnson 30 days of freedom.
Johnson was in Broward County court this morning on charges that he violated his probation. A plea deal was reached that would have kept Johnson out of jail, but when the judge asked Johnson if he was satisfied with his lawyer, Chad responded by slapping his male attorney on the ass.
The courtroom erupted in laughter according to TMZ, but Judge Kathleen McHugh wasn’t smiling.
McHugh asked Johnson if the whole thing was a joke to him.

“I had no intent to make this a joke, because my life is in shambles right now,” Johnson replied.
McHugh kicked Johnson out of the courtroom. When he was allowed to re-enter, the judge hit him with a 30-day jail sentence and a three-month extension of his probation.
Johnson is on probation for charges stemming from a physical altercation with ex-wife Evelyn Lozada last summer. An arrest warrant was issued last month after Johnson failed to show up for a meeting with his probation officer and counseling sessions, and Johnson later turned himself in.
This will be Johnson’s first stint in jail.
