Club 90 Degree first etched out a niche downtown as the Latin dance spot for the non-Calle Ocho crowd, with reggaeton, salsa, and merengue nights; lately, they’ve added hip-hop nights and had Power 96 broadcasting live from the floor on Saturdays.

Last night, police say, at least two gunmen opened fire outside the popular club. Four people were wounded, Det. Wille Moreno tells Riptide, and police are still searching for the suspects.

Details are still slim, but Moreno, a Miami Police Department spokesman, says police rushed to the club around 3 a.m. today.

A fight had broken out inside the club and then had spilled onto the street when the shots rang out, the Miami Herald reports.

Ambulances took four victims to local hospitals. None of their injuries is believed to be life-threatening, Moreno says.

“They are looking for two black male suspects at this time,” Moreno says.

90 Degree won a New Times “Best of Miami” award two years ago, earning a nod as Best Latin Club thanks to its reputation as an “undeniably central destination for Latin rhythms in Miami.”
These days, according to the club’s website, Radio El Zol 95.7 hosts a “Fuego Fridays” party, and Power 95 broadcasts live on Saturdays; there’s also a separate hip-hop room spinning all weekend.

We’ll update this post when we learn more about the shooting.
