Every month it seems Forbes puts out some dumb list of city rankings. Riptide always notes how dumb the list is, but posts about it anyway. Forbes appreciates any extra page views it gets, because that’s half the reason they do it, but at the end of the day, these lists don’t really mean all that much.

Yesterday, we told you about “America’s Most Miserable Cities,” a list where Miami ranked ninth. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen finds these lists just as dumb as we do, and issued a statement about Forbes‘ latest.

“Sadly, the editors once again accept confusing statistics as opposed to

actually visiting and getting a feel of our tropical paradise,” her release read.

That’s the thing, though — as dumb as these lists are, they are based on statistics, and we believe it when Forbes cites the off-the-charts crime, corruption, and foreclosures of our tropical paradise. So instead of being Congress’s leading hater of listacles, perhaps Ros-Lehtinen would serve her constituents better by championing measures in the House that would help reduce crime, corruption, and foreclosures.
