Jason Taylor has been dead to us ever since he left the Dolphins for the Jets, but Zombie Taylor appeared on Joe Rose’s WQAM show this morning to join the cavalcade of players who are criticizing head coach Tony Sparano. This comes as reports that the team has reached out to both former Steelers coach Bill Cowher and Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh.
Taylor agreed with much of what apparently soon-to-be former Dolphins Ricky Williams had to say (even after that awkward Halloween incident), and criticized Sparano’s micromanagement style.
“I’ve never been a fan of micromanaging,” Taylor said . “If you talk to anybody, not only in sports … no one likes to be micromanaged. In sports, when you’re micromanaged so much, I think it gets to a point you’re so afraid to fail, you don’t give yourself a chance to succeed.”
Taylor then linked Sparano’s micromanagement to Chad Henne’s not exactly spectacular performance this season.

“When your quarterback is so afraid to make a mistake or so afraid to throw a pass because there’s a chance it could get intercepted or a chance it could be incomplete, when you’re so afraid to make that mistake, you don’t give yourself a chance to have success,” he said. “It goes back to the old cliché, ‘You can’t steal second with your foot on first.'”
Taylor currently plays for Rex Ryan, so he certainly knows all about feet.
Anyway, The Herald reports that the Fins have reached out to Cowher and Harbaugh.
The word on Cowher remains the same: He doesn’t want to come unless he can bring in his own brand new staff.
Harbaugh remains a possibility, but he’s at the top of the list of many teams across the NFL.
