Parents, how much is your kid worth to you? For Kenia Bosque the answer is a cool seven grand, according to Monroe County Sheriffs agents.

The now-front runner for the Hialeah mother of the year award had arranged to meet a man from Monroe County to trade her 8-month-old son for the money, but authorities got a tip about what was going on.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement arranged to have an undercover deputy present at the “Babies 4 Ca$h” hand off. Bosque did not actually show up, so deputies went to her Hialeah home. There they found enough evidence to make an arrest.

“We are just so glad we were able to obtain this information in time to intervene before anything could happen to endanger this child,” Sheriff Bob Peryam said in a statement.

>Bosque, 30, now sits in a Miami-Dade jail with bond set at $5,000. The child has been put in the care of relatives. Hopefully no one else tries to sell him to pony up Bosque’s bail money.
