Former Rutgers coach Mike Rice is a sad little rage ball of a man who makes Bobby Knight look like a Zen Buddhist. The coach was fired yesterday after ESPN aired video of Rice hurling balls at players’ heads, repeatedly shoving his players during practice, and calling them slurs such as “f*ggot” and “fairy.”
It’s a good thing he never coached either of LeBron James’s sons, because the Miami Heat star promised he would deliver a King-size beatdown.
James’s Twitter feed lately has been full of positive shout-outs to everyone from single parents to the Kids’ Choice Awards and Tiger Woods to Shaq, so the tweet was a bit out of character.
But we can’t imagine any father likes to see kids getting physically and verbally abused by their coach.
