Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, the two most high-profile Republicans in the state, both got elected on the backs of campaigns that never skimped on criticizing Barack Obama, but the two have nothing but praise for the president after he announced the death of Osama bin Laden.
“I want to take this opportunity, first of all, to congratulate the president and his national security team for a job well done,” Rubio said at a recent news conference, according to Naked Politics. “It took a high level of confidence and a significant level of guts to carry out that mission.”
Rubio even went as far as to note that when more details from the mission emerge, citizens will be “similarly impressed with the president and his national security team.”
However, Rubio also made sure to give props to George W. Bush, clarifying that “the decisions made under President Bush… began this process and brought us to this point.”

The Buzz reports Rick Scott made similar comments praising Obama.
“You have to commend the president and the armed forces — the special forces that took the risk to go in there and do that,” the governor said.
But Scott would not go as far as to say he thinks bin Laden’s death will help the president’s election chances in 2012.
