Those prim and proper old folks over in Naples are always worried about those cretins from Miami-Dade traveling over Alligator Alley and coming to take their valuables. But apparently all Miami thieves want from Collier County is their precious, bountiful supply of cardboard. Yes, two Miami men have been charged with grand theft after police foiled a plot to steal large amounts of cardboard from Naples businesses.
Carlos Acostabello, 20, and Dinilo Ramirezfrias, 22, both of Miami, were arrested yesterday outside a Publix on in the Golden Gate Estates area of Collier.
The two men were caught taking a large bundle of cardboard, somehow worth $500, from a loading dock. They then planned to turn around and sell the cardboard to a recycling plant for cash. The two are now facing charges of grand theft.
Apparently, cardboard theft is pretty serious business.
