Police have arrested a mother who is believed to have put her two-year-old daughter on a county bus and then left her. Gayle Kelson walked away while the bus driver yelled at her for forgetting her child, but she continued off the bus. The driver called police, and she was found a short distance away from the stop.

“I don’t know if she was taking her medication or if she didn’t take it or whatever,” Kelson’s grandmother Minnie Hart told CBS4, “but she’s very good with her children. She keeps them clean and everything.”

A hearing to decide temporary custody for the child is set for today. Kelson faces child neglect charges, and her bail is set at $5000. [CBS4 | CBS4]
