Let’s put aside our excitement over a prized athlete deciding to come to Miami — to get excited about a prized athlete deciding to come to Miami! Seantrel Henderson, perhaps the top recruit in the class of 2010, has decided to attend the University of Miami, according to the New York Times. And that concludes the second strangest recruiting saga of the year.

Henderson had originally decided to attend the University of Southern California after also considering Miami and Ohio State (sorry again, Ohio). However, Lane Kiffin reportedly promised that any upcoming sanctions would be minimal. Of course, the NCAA handed out a hell of a punishment to USC, and Henderson backtracked.

USC let him out of his letter of intent, and now he’ll head to the Hurricanes.

According to the Times, he’ll arrive in Miami August 3 and will be academically eligible for the next season.

For a lot of sports fans in Miami, that new Wade-James-Bosh dynasty in downtown is nice and all, but nothing could compare to the re-emergence of “the U” dynasty. With a slew of young talent, a 2010 recruiting class that was already previously highly ranked, and now the addition of Henderson, it might be happening. LeBron might have to learn the hard way that in Miami, it’s all about the U.
