Sorry, folks. It probably won’t happen today. Details are still scarce, but an early-morning shooting in the middle of I-95 has shut down all southbound lanes near the 95th Street exit. The result: unmitigated morning-commute chaos.
According to details released by the Florida Highway Patrol, the shooting happened around 4:30 this morning, when gunfire erupted between two cars heading southbound. At least one man was killed — aerial shots from news helicopters showed a tarp covering a body in the driver’s seat of one car stopped in the middle of the interstate.
CBS4 identifies the man as 23-year-old Nathaniel Peterson. At least two others have been taken to the hospital as a result of the shootout.
An FHP spokesperson tells New Times that Miami-Dade Police
Twitter is aflame with all manner of traveling horror stories in the wake of the shootout.
