On Sunday, a 21-year-old woman said she pulled over near NW 103rd Street near Sixth Avenue in Miami-Dade due to car trouble, and claimed she was beaten and raped by a stranger. Police issued a profile of the assailant, but now say that the victim has changed her story and will no longer press charges.
The victim had told police that an unknown man hit her on her head while she was inspecting her car, and then the suspect pushed her to the ground, hit her several times in the face, and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
The crime actually took place in Miramar, according to WSVN. Police also now believe that the victim actually knew her attacker.
NBC Miami also reports that the victim has decided to drop all charges.
