I kind of hate when I touch on some point in a throw away joke in a blog entry, and then a little bit later someone with the gift of time, experience and editors makes the same point in a really intriguing, well thought out way.
Yesterday, while commenting on the DSCC’s early attack ad against Charlie Crist I opined,”Democrats, after all the ‘hope’ and optimism your party has tapped
into, you’re going to air a negative ad against a politician who hasn’t
even announced his decision to run yet? Classy.”

You see, because the current leader of the Democratic party, his guy Barack Obama, often puts himself above all of this low class, back and forth, political attack ad riff raff.
John Dickerson over at Slate even remembers that “Hey, didn’t President Obama recently share a stage and praise this same Charlie Crist fellow his party his now attacking.”
“Governors understand our economic crisis as well as anyone,” Obama said back then, “They’re on the front lines dealing with it every day, and Gov. Crist shares my conviction that creating jobs and turning this economy around is a mission that transcends party. When the town is burning, we don’t check party labels. Everyone needs to grab a hose and that is what Charlie Crist is doing here today.”
Then, just a few months latter here comes this ad that paint Crist not as a valiant hose grabber, but a political escape artist looking for an easy way out of his responsibility as Governor.
Which makes for an interesting piece you might want to read.
