Before Steve Aoki was voted DJ Most Likely to Waste Champagne, he already had a pretty sweet reputation as the head of Dim Mak Records.

When he started the label in 1996, Aoki focused mainly on signing imminently massive indie-rock acts such as Battles, Bloc Party, and the Von Bondies. But just like all the other late-’00s scenesters, Dim Mak traded its guitars for decks and became one of the hottest homes for funky DJs in all the land. Now, armed with some of the most exciting names in EDM, the label and its mastermind will hit Miami Music Week 2012 for two official label showcases: an after-hours rager at Mansion and a pool party at the Dream Hotel.

With massive acts such as Datsik and Angger Dimas dropping deep cuts and brutal bangers, the Mansion bash is gonna be hard and heavy, while Dream’s sunny sesh will be laid-back and electro-centric, featuring Sidney Samson, R3hab, and Lazy Rich. Both parties, though, share acts such as Joachim Garraud, Felix Cartal, Dirtyphonics, and Peace Treaty.

Aoki is scheduled to play only a set at Mansion, although the special-guest headliner for the pool party suggests he might make an appearance at Dream too. Because, like, it’s his party and he’ll crash if he wants to.
