Newsflash! Turns out that network TV execs’ massive hard-on isn’t limited to sitcoms starring rappers. Apparently, they find whiteboy rap-rockers supersexy and crazy funny too.

Last week, we here at Crossfade chuckled about the fact that former Rollin 20s Crip, gangsta rapper, and proud daddy Snoop Dogg had landed a “family comedy project” on NBC and immediately started wearing Cosby sweaters.

But this morning, there’s an even weirder nugget of sitcom news bombarding the interwebs. According to reports streaming out of Deadline Hollywood, Limp Bizkit’s balding, 41-year-old frontman Fred Durst has just scored his very own situational comedy with CBS. And it’s got a very convenient working title … Douchebag.

So far, the “half-hour comedy project” has only gotten a scrip commitment, which means we might never be forced to endure watching Durst writhe, rage, and ham it up on a Columbia Broadcasting System soundstage, desperately seeking primetime laughs.

But slated to be produced by Two and a Half Men alums Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, and written by Malcolm in the Middle‘s Matthew Carlson, “[Douchebag] centers around a rock legend,” Deadline reports, “looking for balance between his high profile lifestyle and trying to raise a family.”

Really … Fred Durst gettin’ douchey with a plucky TV wife and a couple of teenage kids? Sounds so fucking boring.

But “rock legend”? That’s actually kinda funny.
