J. Wakefield Brewing Company has an early Christmas gift for Miami. During Art Basel, the brewery will host a pop-up beer garden.
Scheduled to take place on December 6, brewer Johnathan Wakefield is expecting to have 15-20 kegs on hand – including some of his famous easy-drinking Berliners and possibly several donated kegs from Cigar City and Cycle Brewing companies. He could also have a keg of Stone Brewing’s w00t Stout and one other keg donated personally by Greg Stone himself.

The beer will be sold by a catering company and will flow between the hours of 3 p.m. and midnight, or until the kegs are tapped out.

Some of the beers in JWB’s lineup will include Lord Pumpkin ale, Miami Maddness, the Nothing imperial stout, Master Blaster porter, a couple of IPAs, a barley wine, and the revival of a ‘dead’ style known as the Kentucky Common Ale.
Kentucky Common ales were a popular beer style from Louisville, Kentucky, and brewing historians say it originated in America. It was brewed with a mixture of barley, corn, and rye. Wakefield Brewing’s version, however, will be slightly soured.
