When an “American Gangster” bumped into “Vito Corleone” at Leonardo DiCaprio’s New York City birthday party, attendees witnessed firsthand how rival celebrity Gangs of New York settle unfinished business.
And it wasn’t pretty for Jay-Z.
According to the New York Post, Jigga waltzed over to Robert De Niro’s table for a casual sit-down, but was blindsided with a lesson in manhood by prequel Don Corleone himself. Evidently, Jay’s been avoiding Bob’s phone calls, and the Oscar-winner feels a bit disrespected.

“Bob wasn’t in any mood to make polite conversation,” the Post‘s “spy” says. “He told Jay that if somebody calls you six times, you call them back. It doesn’t matter who you are, that is just rude.”
In mob speak, the six phone calls in question were in regards to that thing our friend in Brooklyn said he’d do about that thing in lower Manhattan.
In other words, Jay-Z allegedly agreed to record a track for De Niro’s Tribeca Film Festival, but homie’s been scarce on the details, according to the Post.
“Everyone was saying there’s only one star in New York bigger and badder than Jay-Z, and that’s Robert De Niro,” the source says. “He can be quite scary when he’s angry.”
De Niro, however, resents the accusation.
A source close to the 69-year-old actor tells the Post: “It was a low-key private conversation between two people that was apparently overheard. It was not a heated discussion.”
Let’s hope so. We know that Bob sometimes has a short fuse.
