LCD Soundsystem’s heavy dance anthems combine with experimental rock, disco, and
even hints of punk to make for great music for jamming, head-bobbing, or — and our personal preference — full-on shake-every-muscle-in-your-body dance moves.
When we heard last week of LCD Soundsystem’s fall tour announcement with Hot Chip, we’re not gonna lie: We got goosebumps. Can you think of anyone else that can make a song about “drunk girls” getting a couple of heart attacks an insta-hit?
Finally, after several days’ worth of unconfirmed rumors, earlier today Live Nation announced that the tour will, in fact, arrive in Miami, a the Fillmore Miami Beach on October 6. The bad news: It’s arriving sans Hot Chip, on October 6. The good news: Sleigh Bells is coming along, instead, for everyone who didn’t make the trek up to the band’s recent show at Respectable Street in West Palm.

The Sleigh Bells’ choice for South Florida is an obvious one — Hello, Florida connections — but seriously, are we like one of the only stops on the tour without Hot Chip? Would they really rather do Milwaukee than Miami? We’re not hating or anything. Well, maybe just a little.
We have a strange feeling the London blokes are dodging us because they’re afraid of a little heat and sunshine, but either way, the October 6 show is still going to rock. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 6 at 10 a.m. on Live Nation’s site for $34.50, plus fees. Presale starts on Wednesday.
In case you needed more nudging, check out LCD Soundsystem’s video for “Drunk Girls” below, and crack up at a gang of white “bears” beating up the band, dressing them up like chicks, and causing utter chaos. It’s pretty strange, but still funny.
