Lil’ Wayne may be the rap world’s biggest bandwagon fan (how is a guy who grew up in New Orleans and spends his downtime in Miami Beach such a Packers fan anyway?), but apparently he’s now back on good terms with the Heat. All it took was a nod from King James himself.
In an interview with Rolling Stone last month Wayne said he had beef with James and Dwyane Wade when the two failed to acknowledge his courtside presence at an away game in New Orleans.
“Them niggas never speak to a nigga,” he told the mag. “They don’t chuck me the deuce or nothing. Nigga spent all that money on them fucking tickets … Come holla at me. We sit right by them little bitch-ass niggas. At least come ask me why I’m not rooting for you.”
Though, Wayne showed up court side at the triple A last night for a game against the Pacers and according to the Sun-Sentinel when asked if he was back on good terms with James he only replied, “Oh, yeah, yeah.”
James himself sent a nod Wayne’s way during the game, though he couldn’t quite remember it during the post-game press conference.
“Did I? Did I?” James responded when asked about the nod.
“You did?” shot back Wade.
So, we’re taking that as something of a sign that Wayne is something of a Heat fan once again, but relationships between two ego-driven superstars are always gonna be shaky. We just can’t wait for Wayne’s celebratory rap, though, when the Heat win the championship.
