When Whitney Houston died, we were “So Emotional.” And when Donna Summer danced her “Last Dance” a few months later, we went into full breakdown mode, eating nothing but the leftover crumbs in our beard and salty teardrops.

It was tough, still is. But that’s life. The (drag) show must go on. And nobody understands that better than the boys girls at Lips, “the ultimate drag dining.”

Next month, they’re hosting a Whitney Houston and Donna Summer tribute dinner and show, benefiting Women in Distress of Broward County.

“Lips is proud to present this exclusive night for such a good cause,” Lips founder and co-owner Yvonne Lamé says in a statement. The organization is the county’s only nationally accredited, state-certified domestic violence center, and provides victims with counseling and emergency shelter, among other services.

“Women In Distress and other community organizations that we support are important,” Lamé says, “and we want to do what we can do raise more funds and awareness for them.”

It’s the third time that Lips host a benefit for the organization. And just like the previous two shows, the performance is exclusive to the event.

A three-course meal and some complimentary booze (“glass of wine or frozen cosmo”) don’t hurt either.
