Holy shit, SoFlo freaks. Can we not catch a break? Last time, Monotonix trekked this far south (or almost, it was Respectables in West Palm), the band’s explosive Israeli punk-show-slash-Krav-Maga-exhibition ended prematurely after lead singer Ami Shalev totally fucked up his leg.
And now, Crossfade just got word that Monotonix’s Art Basel week party will not happen. Originally planned to go down December 4 at the Electric Pickle, the Miami show got nixed because of a scheduling conflict. Straight from Monotonix PR: “Unfortunately … the Miami show has been cancelled due to a late addition to their tour, in which they have to travel to Santiago, Chile to open for Faith No More.” The party’s organizer Jason Jimenez also confirms the cancellation.
Dammit … And we were so stoked, dude. But the shittiest news of all: These bearded acrobatic maniacs will still be playing Tampa and Tallahassee on December 6 and 7, but they’re just flying past MIA.
For an idea of what you’re missing, watch this vid from SXSW and then go be bummed about our very shitty luck.
