I
was just reading the latest installment of the Fresh Beer Times
newsletter, put out bi-monthly by Fort Lauderdale’s own distributor of
fine, hopped products Fresh Beer, Inc, and I have to say that it kicks ass.
When news happens, Miami New Times is there —
Your support strengthens our coverage.
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If Miami New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
It comes out on the second and fourth Fridays of each month, and covers
everything from beer-related events to new selections to a complete run
down all the latest arrivals at bars, restaurants, and supermarkets
around Broward and Palm Beach counties. Definitely worth signing up
for; which you can do at their website, www.freshbeerinc.com.
Some nifty tidbits from the latest edition: Dogfish lovers can head to the Funky Buddha Lounge for their Dogfish 120 and World Wide Stout fix, each on draft! And here’s a bit of news: Ye Olde Falcon Pub
– a great British-style pub for both food and beer – has just
overhauled their draft system, meaning pint o’ Dead Guy, or any of
their over 30 draft selections, tastes fresher than ever.
The FBT also mentions a pretty neat upcoming event: A beer dinner going on at Howley’s Diner
in West Palm Beach on December 15. For $35 you’ll get a five course
pairing with selections like Seafood Chowder and Export Ale, penne with
wilted escarole and Old Thumper, and Mandarin Chocolate Chip Cake with
Pugsley’s Signature Series Barley Wine. It’s all put together in
conjunction with Shipyard Ale. The dinner gets underway at 7 p.m.;
reserve your seat by calling 561-833-5691.
