The student who accused breakout University of Florida quarterback and former Booker T. Washington High star Treon Harris of sexual battery has dropped her complaint. The unnamed student will no longer pursuit charges against Harris, but his future with the football team still remains unclear.

The University of Florida is expected to address the situation further later today.

But for now here’s the statement from the school:

The student who accused Treon Harris of sexual battery has withdrawn her criminal complaint. This means she is not pursuing criminal charges against him at this time but maintains the right to do so in the future.

The case stems from an incident that happened early Sunday morning in student housing just hours after Harris, a Freshman, came off the bench and lead the Gators to a come-from-behind victory.

Harris had retained the services of Huntley Johnson, a high power attorney in Gainesville who is the go-to lawyer for many of the school’s football players.

Just yesterday Johnson released a press release with Harris’s side of the story. The release stated that Johnson and the alleged victim had previously known each other, and that the woman was “the sexual aggressor.”
